Hardware and analog synthesizers are still very much relevant in the digital era. Not only the sound - but also creative limitations, hands-on workflow, unmatched resolution of analog control, esthetics and the physicality of the electronic musical instruments...

But most importantly, analog circuits are a bridge between the physical/real and the virtual/imaginary — a common language that connects sound, vibration, light, movement and force — an interface of artistic expression.

I have been building my own hardware synthesizers and musical controllers for a while now. My process is based on ever-evolving, functional prototypes and involves a lot of experimentation. Builds often start on a breadboard and evolve through iterative refinement, allowing them to grow before becoming finalized modules or standalone devices (if that ever happens).
